Cila Primary School recently hosted a vibrant Year 6 Career Festival, giving pupils a valuable insight into the world of work. The event welcomed professionals from a wide range of industries including healthcare, engineering, creative arts, and public services, who generously shared their experiences and career journeys.
Pupils learned about the qualifications, skills, and pathways needed for different roles, helping them connect classroom learning with real-life opportunities. The sessions sparked curiosity, encouraged questions, and helped children begin to imagine their own futures.
These kinds of experiences are essential. They allow learners to make informed decisions about their next steps and future aspirations. By engaging directly with professionals, pupils gain a clearer understanding of what’s on offer and what it takes to succeed.
The event also highlighted the importance of partnerships between education and business. When schools and employers work together, they pave the way for all learners, creating opportunities, raising aspirations, and building confidence.
A huge thank you to all the professionals who took part. Your contributions made a lasting impact and helped shape the future thinking of these young minds.
