Pupils from Clase Primary School and Townhill Primary School recently enjoyed an inspiring morning of outdoor learning at Gower College Swansea as part of a community participation initiative designed to develop skills for life, learning and future work.
Throughout the session, learners took part in a range of practical outdoor activities that encouraged them to work together, solve problems and communicate effectively. These hands-on experiences helped pupils build confidence while developing valuable transferable skills that employers look for, including teamwork, resilience, leadership, creativity and decision-making.
The activities also highlighted the importance of community, encouraging learners to consider how working together, supporting others and taking responsibility can make a positive difference both locally and in the workplace. By experiencing learning outside the classroom, pupils gained a greater understanding of how everyday skills can be applied in different careers and future employment.
Events such as this play an important role in broadening young people’s aspirations and helping them recognise that the skills they develop today will benefit them throughout their education and into adulthood.
