Every week, Clwyd Primary School opens the doors of its very own Clwyd Cwtch Coffee Shop, a warm and welcoming café run entirely by the pupils. Parents, carers, and members of the local community come along to enjoy a cuppa, a tasty treat, and a friendly chat, making the café a popular highlight of the week.
The children take on every role needed to keep the café running smoothly – from greeting customers and taking orders to preparing food and serving drinks. They even help with the cleaning up afterwards! This hands-on experience gives pupils the chance to build confidence, develop teamwork skills, and practise using money in a real-life setting. It also introduces them to the world of work, helping them understand responsibility and the different pathways their future careers could take.
The Clwyd Cwtch Coffee Shop doesn’t just benefit the children – it strengthens the school’s links with the wider community. Visitors enjoy seeing the pupils shine in their roles, and many look forward to their weekly visit as a chance to connect with others in a friendly and welcoming environment.
The café has quickly become a proud tradition at Clwyd Primary School, showing what can be achieved when young people and their community come together.
