Construction careers day at Ysgol Calon Lân

Post 16 students from Ysgol Calon Lan recently took part in a Construction Careers Day, where they explored the role of a carpenter within the industry.  The event was delivered with the fantastic support of Kier Group and Ian Williams Carpentry.

A special thank you goes to Gwyn and apprentice Rhodri, who guided the students in building picnic benches — now generously donated by Ian Williams Carpentry to Ysgol Calon Lans’ primary provision. Rhodri shared his inspiring career journey since leaving school, making a big impression on the students.

Dave Smith, Careers and Work-Related Education Lead at the school, expressed his gratitude to Careers Wales and the employers involved for making the day such a success. The pupils were fully engaged throughout, showing great enthusiasm for learning new skills.

A huge thanks to everyone who contributed to a truly career inspiring and fun-filled morning!
