Ysgol Calon Lan recently welcomed a fully inclusive enterprise workshop designed to support pupils with a wide range of Additional Learning Needs. The session formed part of Morganstone’s community project commitment and showcased how high quality enterprise learning can be adapted so that every child can take part.
The Bumbles of Honeywood Programme 🐝 is used by primary schools across the region to introduce key enterprise skills in creative and engaging ways. The programme is widely delivered in mainstream settings although the team also works closely with specialist schools to adapt activities so they are accessible for learners who require additional support, including those who are non-verbal.
Morganstone selected Ysgol Calon Lan, a school with significant ALN provision, as one of its community focus projects. This created an opportunity to design a bespoke workshop that aligned with the school’s theme of Movement. Working in partnership with the deputy headteacher, the education team leader shaped a session that offered sensory learning, accessible communication activities, rhythmic movement tasks, plus opportunities for pupils to express their ideas in ways that suited their needs.
The workshop was a vibrant and fully inclusive experience that pupils and staff embraced with enthusiasm. Children engaged confidently with the adapted tasks which encouraged exploration, teamwork, and playful learning. The visit also included a special appearance from Betty Bumble, whose arrival quickly became the highlight of the day. Pupils were delighted to meet her with many enjoying the chance of a selfie!

Morganstone comment
“Morganstone is proud to be partnering with 2B Enterprising, a collaboration that helps bring the invaluable Bumbles of Honeywood enterprise skills programme to schools. The Tŷ Dyfatty Site, of Ysgol Calon Lán formerly Ysgol Crug Glas was chosen because we wanted to support a specialist school within Swansea plus it is close to our SA1 Waterfront site. Seeing this programme tailored for pupils with Additional Learning Needs has been a truly inspiring experience. It was amazing to witness how the team adapted their sessions so the resources and activities matched the pupils needs and abilities. Their commitment to delivering relevant and engaging activities centred on friendship, wellbeing, and happiness brought the learning to life in an authentic way for every child. Their fun and engaging approach ensures these young people are having a great time while developing essential life skills for the future.”
