Townhill School welcomed a wide range of local employers and training providers this week as part of their first vibrant and engaging Careers Fair, aimed at broadening their learners’ awareness of career pathways and inspiring future aspirations.
The event brought together representatives from sectors including beauty and well-being from Dylan Thomas School and Lara Johnsons Lifestyle , healthcare from a Nurse and Dr Jack, engineering from UWTSD who even brought in a motorbike, hospitality from Morgans and The Magic Bean Company, Construction from Wilmott Dixon and public services from local a Fireperson and PCSO. Learners had the opportunity to speak directly with professionals, ask questions, and gain insights into various industries.
Staff and learners alike praised the event for its energy, relevance, and impact. “It was great to see our learners so engaged and enthusiastic,” said one teacher. “Events like this make a real difference in helping learning come to life.”
We look forward to future employer engagement activities that involve the businesses who have signed the Careers and Opportunities Pledge—bringing education and industry together to inspire and support young people.
This event forms part of the school’s broader commitment to delivering high-quality Careers and Work-Related Experiences (CWRE), ensuring that all learners are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to make informed choices about their futures.
