The Swansea Building Society Arena hosted the vibrant ‘It’s Your Swansea’ conference and exhibition, an inspiring event designed to connect young people, educators, and employers across the region.
Organised in collaboration with Gower College Swansea, Swansea Council, and My Choice Swansea, the event offered a packed programme of careers-focused activities. Local learners explored the exhibition space, took part in hands-on sessions, and enjoyed a fascinating science presentation by Oriel Science from Swansea University.
Teachers, careers advisors, and business engagement professionals also had the opportunity to join a dedicated session to explore best practice in delivering Careers and Work-Related Experiences (CWRE) under the Curriculum for Wales.
The event successfully showcased the breadth of career opportunities available across a range of sectors in Swansea and beyond. Both learners and staff walked away not only with bags of brilliant merchandise but, more importantly, with greater knowledge and inspiration about the world of work.
The day reinforced the power of collaboration between education and industry in supporting young people’s futures, broadening their horizons, boosting their confidence, and helping them recognise their potential in a thriving local economy.
