Olchfa School is celebrating a fantastic achievement as its Young Enterprise team proudly represented South Wales at the Welsh Final of the prestigious competition. Reaching this stage is a remarkable accomplishment and reflects the creativity, dedication and entrepreneurial spirit of the students involved.
A special congratulations goes to the team ‘Barod’, who secured victory in the South Wales round. Their innovative business idea focuses on sustainability by renting out prom dresses and suits, making formalwear more accessible while helping to reduce the environmental impact of fast fashion. Their project is a powerful example of how young people are tackling real-world issues with thoughtful and practical solutions.
The Welsh Final, hosted by Swansea University at the Taliesin Arts Centre, brought together over 80 young people from across Wales. The event showcased an impressive range of ideas, highlighting the confidence, innovation and problem-solving abilities of the next generation. The Young Enterprise Company Programme is widely recognised for helping students develop essential skills such as teamwork, leadership and financial awareness, preparing them for future careers.
Olchfa School extends its thanks to Miss Hutchings for her invaluable support. We wish Team Barod the very best of luck as they continue their journey.
