Pentrechwyth Primary pupils race into the world of work

Pentrechwyth Primary School pupils swapped their classrooms for the workshop floor recently, taking part in an exciting, hands-on go-kart building and racing day delivered by LemmieOut. The action-packed experience gave learners the chance to design, build and race their own go-karts, turning teamwork and problem-solving into real-world skills.

Throughout the day, pupils developed a wide range of abilities, including communication, collaboration and critical thinking. Working in teams, they followed instructions, managed time effectively and solved practical challenges as they assembled their karts. Once complete, the racing element added an extra layer of excitement, encouraging resilience, confidence and sportsmanship.

The event also offered a valuable insight into the world of work. Pupils were introduced to skills used across engineering, mechanics and the motorsport industry, helping them understand how classroom learning connects to future careers. Concepts such as design, safety, and performance were explored in an engaging and age-appropriate way.

By partnering with LemmieOut, Pentrechwyth Primary School provided an unforgettable learning experience that inspired curiosity and ambition. The day not only fueled a passion for motorsport but also helped pupils build essential life skills that will support them well beyond the school gates.
