This new tour introduces teachers to a fresh set of Swansea locations, organisations, and industries, demonstrating how real‑world contexts can meaningfully enrich teaching and learning across Curriculum for Wales.

This immersive experience allows teachers to explore how local businesses, community sectors, and modern industries shape the city, create opportunities, and offer authentic contexts that can be used to support the 9 CWRE elements.

The tour will feature four new venues, each selected for their relevance to skills, innovation, community value, and workforce development.

This follow‑up professional learning session builds on the success of the CWRE Support and Resources event at Swansea Arena. The day will focus on practical implementation, progression, and real examples of how schools are embedding Careers and Work‑Related Experiences (CWRE) across Curriculum for Wales.

Teachers will explore how to move from inspiration to sustained impact using the Inspire – Embed – Impact model and the 9 CWRE elements.

Careers Wales provides a range of free resources tailored for primary schools, including toolkits, activity packs, and ideas for embedding careers into the curriculum. You can also use the links on this website and connections with local businesses.

How can I involve parents and the wider community?

Parents, carers, and local professionals are fantastic resources. Invite them to speak to your class about their jobs or take part in events like “What’s My Job?” days. This helps children see a wide range of roles and pathways and shows that there are many different routes to success.

Do I need to have detailed knowledge about careers to deliver this?
