Bridgend College is the 2019 Times Educational Supplement FE College of the Year and has been graded a ‘Double Excellent’ by Estyn. It supports over 6,000 students across its four campuses in Bridgend, Pencoed, Queens Road and Maesteg.
Over 850 students choose to complete their higher education course with us each year. The College works in partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan University and is a collaborative partner of the University of South Wales.
Bridgend College provides a welcoming and highly inclusive environment where learners from all backgrounds feel safe and well supported. Courses offered range from Entry level through to degree level. FE courses are available for learners over the age of 16 looking to further their education after school, whether that be going on to university, starting an apprenticeship or employment.
A wide variety of courses and pathways are also offered through our collaboration with Pencoed Comprehensive School, Penybont 6th Form College. The partnership enables students to access the very best teaching and learning experiences and the unique opportunities that both the College and the school can offer.
We are an award-winning organisation and are extremely proud to be not only flying the flag for Wales, but also for excellence. In 2018 alone, Bridgend College was crowned winner of the AAC Apprenticeship Provider of the Year (Regional) and was voted winner of the FE category at the ‘WhatUni’ Student Choice Awards.
Future plans for the Pencoed Campus is to build a £30 million STEAM Academy (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) which opens its doors in September 2021. This will allow us to continue to deliver an excellent teaching and learning environment in a modern and spacious facility.
