St. Helen’s Primary School host their first inspiring careers fair for years 4, 5 and 6

St. Helen’s Primary School held its very first Careers Fair this week, providing an exciting and educational experience for learners in Years 4, 5, and 6. The event supported the Curriculum for Wales by encouraging learners to develop as ambitious, capable individuals and ethical, informed citizens who are ready to learn about the world of work.

A wide range of organisations took part, offering insight into diverse career paths. Attendees included Morganstone, the school nursing service, EYST Wales, Dawsons Property, Army Cadets, Tesco, Swansea Council, Magic Bean, South Wales Police, and the Fire Service. Each visitor shared information about their job roles and the skills needed to succeed in their industries.

Pupils had the opportunity to ask questions, try on uniforms, explore equipment, and even experience role-playing activities. From learning about community safety with police officers to discovering careers in construction and entrepreneurship, the event sparked curiosity and excitement.

Staff praised the fair for helping learners understand the value of work, the importance of transferable skills, and the many pathways available to them in the future. The day was a huge success and a fantastic step towards building learners’ confidence and aspirations.
