Townhill and Clwyd Primary pupils spark inspiration at Gower College Swansea World skills careers event

Pupils from Townhill Primary School and Clwyd Primary School visited Gower College Swansea’s Tycoch Campus this week for an exciting day of careers workshops and hands-on activities, designed to inspire the next generation of skilled professionals.

The visit formed part of a wider celebration as Gower College Swansea welcomed the Team Wales Torch, marking a major milestone on its journey across Wales ahead of the WorldSkills UK National Finals — hosted in Wales for the first time this year.

The WorldSkills competition, often referred to as the “Skills Olympics”, showcases the very best young talent from across the UK and beyond.

During their visit, the primary pupils had the chance to explore different career pathways, meet college students and staff, and learn more about the exciting opportunities within vocational education.

The event left the young visitors inspired and motivated, especially after hearing that seven Gower College Swansea students have reached the WorldSkills UK National Finals this year — a real testament to the college’s dedication to skills excellence and future talent development.
